The Sheaf & Porter Rivers Trust focus on the section between Hunters Bar and Sheffield Station, which makes up the lower Porter Brook.

The Upper Porter Brook is lovingly cared for by the Friends of the Porter Valley.

The following is the route between the confluence with Sheaf at Platform 5a of Sheffield Station to high up on the Moors, bordering the Peak District National Park, at Fulwood Lane

Also check out a history walk by 'Urban Rambles' ...but do check bus timetables first as this post is from 2016:

The Missing Links

4. Across the Decathalon site, connecting "Platform" to the existing Porter Brook Trail and onwards upstream.

5. Waitrose Car Park to "Liv Student Accommodation"

A very short ramp or set of steps.

6. Summerfield Street to Pear Street (and onwards to the General Cemetery)

This is being work on by a developer as we speak.

The Missing Links

7. The final and most difficult, how to link through Sharrow Vale to Hunters Bar and the upper half of the Porter Brook Trail.

This will be a very long term project as there is very few opportunites.
