River Sheaf Walk extended!
Without ceremony or celebration, the first new section of River Sheaf Walk for 20 years, which is accessible to the public, is now open on Little London Road!
The residential developer initially did not want to provide this but the campaigning efforts of the Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust and our supporters have made this a reality!
Now, there is a "However...."
In the final photos, you will see a very large step between the new riverside walk and the older section, never opened to the public. This runs up to the river bridge, behind the other flats built a few years ago on the old laundry site.
We will be making the case to close off the narrow alley between buildings and create a fully accessible ramp to link old and new riverside.
While we fight to make the full riverside accessible for everyone, we can still celebrate another area of the Sheaf has been put back into Sheffield!
